Default 55 Monking

Ok, so ive been playing for a while now, and it now seems apparent that i have bought the games in wrong order

I own both nightfall and factions.

I'll start my question by refering to a post by someone i presume you all know:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...i+rain+55+monk

And a specific part from the original post:

Q: I only have GW:F. Can I still make a 55 monk?
A: Yes you can, however, Shield of Judgment cannot be captured in GW:F. Since Shield of Judgment is the backbone of this build, I suggest you don???t make one.

Now as far as have been lead to believe by reading through thousands of posts over the last few days is that to be realistic in making a 55 monk (or 55 anything for that matter) Balthazar's Spirit and Essence Bond are required.

The post then goes on to list these as skills for such a build in Factions.

There must be a boss out there in the whole of Cantha and Elona that uses this skill, even FoW or UW? If not how is it possible to make a 55 and why were these skills listed in the build?

Surely to god there must be a boss out there using this skill in Factions, nightfall, Fow or UW

Thanks for reading.

it wouldnt matter if they did. you cant have skills that are campaign specific unless you own the campaign. it wouldnt let you cap it. i believe this also applies when you use skills like inspired hex. you can remove the hex, but if its not from a campaign you own, it will be disabled.

im not sure i agree with this fully. Mainly because i can use weapons from any campaign i dont have so why not skills? I know theres a boss in Underworld that uses SS and im pretty sure if i go in and try to cap it, it wont be a problem. Although this is just me trying to think logically, unless someone can tell me from experience that im wrong? More help on this would be great.

Weapons are just skins. They have no bearing on the game. You want Prophecies skills, you must purchase a copy of it.

There aren't any bosses in Underworld.

you have to own the campaign of the skill you wish to acquire.

Not entiryly correct on the part about a 55 must have Shield of Judgement, its just the most commonly used one.
I Remember once using Gladiator's defense to farm some boss, yes this is also a phrophecies only skill but its just to show that you dont need shield of judgement. heres a link, read about it

See it says to for example replace shield of judgement with glyph of renewal and use sliver armor for dmg.

Shield of Judgement is just one of the many possiblities.

Shield Of Judgement is just the most used skill for the 55 (well that and Spiteful Spirit) There are other skills you can use besides them if you check in the farming section of the forums. If your just looking to make a "invinci" farming build you way want to check out the Vengeful Farmer Build using a Ritualist since you own Factions. Both are very similar in what you can farm except the Rit doesn't have to worry about enchantment strippers so much. I find it to be easier to use also.
